Hello! I’m Hannah Zoé Ankrah, an actress, facilitator and wellbeing practitioner passionate about creating spaces where young people can express themselves, feel heard and thrive.
My journey started in the arts, and I’ve been blessed to work across TV, theatre and film. But alongside performing, I’ve always been fascinated by how creativity and psychology connect, and how storytelling can help us better understand ourselves and the world around us. That curiosity led me to study Psychology (BSc) and complete my Child Development MSc at UCL.
As a creative freelancer in the arts, my practice is grounded in evidence-based approaches that center wellbeing. I often combine theatre and psychology, using play, imagination and creativity as tools to help young people build confidence, self-awareness and a sense of belonging. Play, creativity and care are at the heart of everything I do – when young people feel seen and supported, incredible things happen.
Being part of Parent Power has been such an important part of my journey. As a Youth Trustee and Youth Advisory Lead, I’ve had the privilege of co-developing projects and forums that amplify the voices of young people. Parent Power has shown me what true community collaboration looks like, where young people, parents and practitioners come together to listen, learn and lead change.
Through initiatives like the Aspire Youth Forum, I’ve seen the power of giving young people space to shape conversations that affect them. I’ve also led projects such as Let’s Talk About It, exploring mental health and wellbeing with young people aged 11–17, and The Embrace Space at the National Maritime Museum, celebrating positive racial identity through drama and the arts.
Seeing the confidence, connection and creativity that grows from this work continues to inspire me.
Bianca has built something so special and has truly championed my ideas, supporting my growth as an artist. I’m so proud to be part of a community like Parent Power that truly believes in the voices and potential of young people.
“Play, creativity and care are at the heart of everything I do. When young people feel seen and supported, incredible things happen.”
