Parent Power trains volunteers to deliver programmes to the community. Champions are also trained to become mentors and support families and parents in need of friendship or specific support.
Those who join us share their skills, time, and compassion to lift fellow parents in the community. Being a Champion also offers our volunteers connection and purpose, as well as opportunities for skill development and growth.
We always need volunteers and would love to hear from you.
We train all our Champions, and we provide references for work and training. You would only be asked to work hours that you can fit around your own home and work life, and on topics and locations that suit you. The type of activities and people you will be asked to support are:

"I’d encourage anyone looking for purpose, connection, or a way to uplift others to join Parent power."
Volunteering as a Parent Champion over the past 4 years has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
I first got involved with Bianca the Founder of Parent Power when visiting the local library with my children and I was inspired by Bianca’s vision and desire to support parents within the community as I was also looking for a way to give back whilst balancing work and family life.
This role gave me the flexibility to make a difference whilst still prioritising my responsibilities at home.
During my time with Parent Power I’ve had the chance to participate in valuable training programs, event preparations and delivery. These sessions have deepened my understanding of, child development, mental health and the ability to be directly involved in my local community/ out -reach.
My involvement with Parent Power and my own life experiences have equipped me with practical tools to support others within the local community who are facing challenges or require support.
One of the most meaningful parts of this experience has been connecting with parents and caregivers with Bianca encouraging me to take lead through creating activities, workshops, peer support groups and one-on-one mentoring and public speaking.
Beyond volunteering, this role has inspired me and given me great confidence to pursue my own growth.
I’d encourage anyone looking for purpose, connection, or a way to uplift others to join Parent power. Thank you Bianca!

"Being a Champion for a year has been an amazing experience."
Iris joined Parent Power in 2024 when her children started primary school. With more free time during school hours, she wanted to do something meaningful while still being able to care for her children. This role allowed her to work around her children’s schedules and contribute to the community at the same time.
During this time, Iris was given opportunities to attend various training sessions on perinatal parenting. She successfully completed the Solihull Approach Parenting and Practitioner Training course, which has enriched her parenting knowledge and boosted her confidence in supporting new parents.
On the benefits of being a Champion, Iris says, "I have been able to connect with different people through outreach and parenting workshops, where I share my own parenting experiences. As a new immigrant to this country, I can relate to the challenges of adapting to a new environment and understanding the concerns of parents with similar backgrounds. Initially, I felt out of place living here, but becoming a Champion has made me feel like a valued part of this community, inspiring me to contribute even more.
This role has also motivated me to seek out courses for personal development. I have taken crafting, cookery, and bakery classes, where I have learned new skills and made new friends.
I would definitely encourage my friends — or anyone — to join our team so we can learn, grow, and support one another."
"Parent Power helped me gain experience in my work as a designer and admin."
Sangeeta has contributed as a graphic designer and an administrator, coordinating resources for workshops. The experience has allowed her to develop organizational and multitasking skills.
Sangeeta says, "Working with Parent Power has given me valuable insight into the importance of community-driven efforts and has reinforced my passion for using design and administrative skills to support meaningful causes."
"This journey has been nothing short of amazing."
Last year, by accident, Louise discovered a Parent Power course for new parents, and for the first time, felt truly heard, seen, and welcomed. "I realised I wasn’t alone in facing the challenges of parenthood. As a foreigner without family here, connecting with others in a similar situation was incredibly reassuring."
Through these sessions, Louise became confident and committed himself to learning as much as possible. Louis explains, "I attended courses like Discovering Me and Perinatal Parenting and even completed the Solihull Online Training. What started as a simple step turned into something beyond my expectations — I became a proud Parent Power Champion.
Now, I have the privilege of being a facilitator, supporting other parents just as Parent Power has supported me. I’m still learning, growing, and discovering new things, and it means the world to me that my son can be part of this journey, attending events that enrich both of our lives.
I wholeheartedly recommend these sessions to my friends and colleagues. Even attending just one event could make a difference. Together, we can support and encourage one another — because parenting is a journey best shared."

"I personally learnt a lot too from the sessions."
I took part in a few workshops for Parent Power and it has been such a great experience. It’s amazing to see how much families learn and all the connections they make in between them. I personally learnt a lot too from the sessions.
It’s clearly so much needed within the community as it helps to prevent isolation and also aids to develop friendships in between mums and different families.

"I appreciate all the hard work Parent Power puts into arranging insightful workshops and meaningful events."
Hi, I’m Smita, and I recently joined Parent Power. From the very beginning, I’ve been touched by how supportive and fabulous the entire team is, and it already feels like I’m part of a warm and welcoming family.
Parent Power is making a difference by helping parents at every stage of their journey, whether it's navigating early motherhood, handling parenting challenges, or creating a supportive community. I had the wonderful opportunity to be part of the Mother's Day event. I was also able to support a young mum through the initial stages of her parenting journey, which was incredibly rewarding.
I appreciate all the hard work Parent Power puts into arranging insightful workshops and meaningful events. Being a part of Parent Power is certainly an inspiring experience!

"Seeing the parents find confidence, connection and reassurance reminds me of the impact this support can have."
Being a Perinatal Facilitator for Parent Power, along with working with young mums, has been an incredibly personal and fulfilling journey. I once received the support I now provide and giving back in this way is truly meaningful. Seeing the parents find confidence, connection and reassurance reminds me of the impact this support can have. The need for these spaces is greater than ever and I’m grateful to be part of a community that uplifts and empowers parents through every step of their journey. Having such a flexible role while undergoing treatment, managing my health and homeschooling my children is a truly invaluable benefit. Thank you Bianca and all team members for making this possible.
