Sign up if you are a parent or carer and want to be more confident and supportive of your children.

TRIPLE P GROUP

Triple P (Positive Parenting Programmes), draws on social learning, cognitive behavioural and developmental theory as well as research into risk factors associated with the development of social and behavioural problems in children. It aims to equip parents with the skills and confidence they need to be self-sufficient and to be able to manage family issues without ongoing support.

TRIPLE P TEEN

The Triple P Teen (Positive Parenting Programme for Teen) teaches parents about: the factors which influence teenage behaviour; how to develop a positive relationship with your teenager; how to encourage appropriate behaviour; coach teens to develop problem-solving skills; manage problematic behaviour; negotiate family rules; deal with emotional behaviour; and prepare for new or risky situations.

SFSC

Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities (SFSC) is an inclusive evidence-based parenting programme, designed to promote protective factors associated with good parenting and better outcomes for children. SFSC reaches parents from a number of backgrounds, including black and minority ethnic parents, teenage parents, parents with learning disabilities, and parents from marginalised communities, including those with a history of drug abuse, alcohol abuse or violence.

BESPOKE PARENTING PROGRAMMES

SUPPORTING TEENS IN TRANSITIONS

Parenting teenagers can be challenging and many parents find it hard to adapt to changes in their child's behaviour as they grow up. This programme provides parents of teens with knowledge about characteristics of teen behaviour; understanding of how to accommodate the developmental changes effectively; and skills to help parents successfully support the transition into adulthood.

PROMOTING SOCIAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Many families experience a communication gap between parents and teenagers. This programme will teach parents how to improve their communication with their teenagers. Parents will gain insights into why teens may communicate less with them; how to effectively cope with their emotional outbursts: how to talk about sensitive issues like sex, drugs and alcohol. Parents will also learn how to keep communication lines open.

SUPPORTING TEENS AND THEIR DIGITAL WELLBEING

This training will provide parents with an understanding of how and why teenagers use technology, from the internet and social media, phones, apps, games, television, and other types of devices. Parents will learn about the dangers of cyberbullying, internet criminal activity, pornography and how to protect their teens from it. They will learn how to help their teens manage their use of technology including internet safety and parental controls.
